REDINGTON ZERO 2/3WT FLY REEL SAND
The best reason ever to ditch work
Redington’s die-cast Zero may not be the most durable fly reel on the market, but it packs a punch in the click-check trout reel sphere. One of the most affordable reels in its class, the Zero is a simple solution to small water and river fishing for the avid trout angler who prefers a traditional click-check reel. While many reel manufacturers continue to make reels more expensive and more powerful, Redington sticks to the basics and provides the best reels for the most affordable prices and the Zero is no exception.
Design
Trout-Specific Build - Redington made the Zero to be a classic click-check trout reel. The Zero was engineered to be the lightest reel in the sub-$100 price-range packing loads of features at an affordable cost. A large arbor increases retrieval rates, a die-cast design keeps the reel lightweight, and an aluminum/Delrin drag system helps wrangle any trout. This reel fits into the affordable trout reel niche really well.
Finish
Three Color Finish - The Zero is built on die-cast construction and comes in two different sizes and three different colors. The Zero is available in Avocado, Sand, and Black color schemes perfect for all small water trout fishing. The reel’s construction and finish contribute to its lightweight performance.
Materials
Die-Cast Aluminum - The Zero is built from die-cast aluminum. This aluminum is a lightweight, affordable alternative to machining and is part of the reason the Zero is so the lightest reel in its price range. Redington also uses twin molded, soft-touch handles on the Zero. Every reel comes with a nylon reel case.
Drag
Type - The Zero has a click-check drag system. While not the strongest drag system on the market, this system is lightweight and perfect for small trout applications when a huge drag isn’t needed.
Materials - The click-check drag system on the Zero is made with an anodized aluminum clicker and a Delrin gear. These materials are the perfect combination of decreased weight and increased reliability.
Arbor Size
Large Arbor - The large arbor of the Zero increases line pickup and helps anglers efficiently fight trout. The U-Shaped spool is great for small trout lines and creek lines. Anglers also don’t have to worry about where line lands on the reel when playing a fish because of the arbor design.
